Woke up this morning and decided to do a search for “manually installing Froyo”; to my amazement there were links all over the web! Froyo was in the wild! It was time for an UPGRADE!
Having already done a manual install for Android 2.1 Eclair, I was already comfortable with taking OS install matters into my own hands.
My previous posts sing the praises of this new OS upgrade and while there are still some issues with 3rd party apps (Handcent) almost everything seems to be working and there are noticeable speed improvements. Exchange calendars look GREAT. It’s the little things that count and while Google has added a lot of new features the small improvements like the ones in the calendar app are icing on the Froyo.
How does it run? I’m proud to say (much to Mr. Job’s disagreement) that Flash is alive and well and now appears on my Nexus 1! I was able to watch flash video as well as even play a flash game.
The link below is from Android Police. I found it fitting to post their article since they were the ones who had the first “leaked” reports for Froyo and Flash:
What a great day!
