Well the iPhone 4 got announced today… Other than video chat, more pixels on the screen and a “new and improved design” this one doesn’t look like the revolution the world was looking for.
MobileCrunch has a review here: http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2010/06/07/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-iphone-4/
Warning: They seem a little too in love to give it the critical review the phone deserves.
The saving grace in the Crunch universe is this comparison between the iPhone 4 and the EVO: http://www.crunchgear.com/2010/06/07/by-the-numbers-the-iphone-4-vs-evo-4g/
From the article: “But the new iPhone is finally official after months of leaks and it’s ready to fight although it’s not exactly fair. The fourth generation iPhone isn’t just going up against one phone. Nope, the EVO 4G is just Android’s flavor of the month. A more powerful and sexy Android handset will likely steal its attention by the end of the summer and the iPhone 4 will have to stand against with that model as well.”
Now that is what I like to read! “EVO 4G is just Android’s flavor of the month”. The innovation and openness of the Android operating system along with multiple hardware vendors will all but guarantee that a new Android phone is about to stomp a mud-hole in the iPhone’s docking port.
I don’t know about you guys but I’m hungry for some Gingerbread…
